UPDATE (3/26): Pismo Beach police say Charles “Chuck” Fortner has been located and is safe.
He was reportedly found Thursday at around 12:42 p.m. near 22nd Street and the Arroyo Grande Creek in Oceano. While responsive and not appearing to be hurt, police say the 64-year-old was taken to the hospital for evaluation and has been reunited with his family.
The search for Fortner began after he was last seen walking away from his home in Downtown Pismo Beach.
Police say they worked with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s search and rescue team, drone team, County Office of Emergency Services and a cellular forensics team.

Police say Charles "Chuck" Fortner was last seen Sunday evening in the Downtown Pismo Beach area.
They say he was wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweat pants and blue tennis shoes.
