UPDATE: No gun found at Pioneer Valley HS after 'vague threat,' school officials say

UPDATE (10:27 a.m.) - School officials say a report of a gun on the Pioneer Valley High School campus Friday morning turned out to be a hoax.

The school reportedly received a "vague phone threat" at about 9:30 a.m.

Students were in finals at the time.

Police and security officials reportedly searched the campus and nothing was found.

(10:11 a.m.) - Pioneer Valley High School in Santa Maria was placed on lockdown Friday morning after an anonymous report of a firearm on school grounds, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.

Officers are reportedly at the school investigating the report.

Police say students and staff are safe.
