Pedestrian hit near Chumash Casino, driver facing DUI, other charges

A driver is facing felony charges following a hit-and-run that injured a pedestrian in Santa Ynez near the Chumash Casino Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. to Highway 246 and Casino Drive for reports of a pedestrian that had been hit.

The driver took off but was later located on Highway 154 and Armour Ranch Road, according to CHP, which says the 53-year-old driver from Paramount City is facing felony charges related to hit-and-run and DUI.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
