The Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services is planning to simulate an active shooter situation as a part of a training on Wednesday, August 14, at 9 a.m.

The training will take place at the Bauer Spec site, a facility the Paso Robles Unified School District plans on tearing down and replacing during its district-wide modernization.

The multi-agency drill will involve both police and fire departments, who will work together to secure the scene, treat and transport victims participating in the drill to nearby hospitals.

The Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services was in the planning process of conducting this drill when the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting occurred. The agency wants to emphasize the need to be prepared in the wake of the attack.
