Olsen's Danish Village Bakery in Solvang is celebrating 50 years of operation on the Central Coast.
To celebrate, they hosted a celebration starting at 10 a.m. with live music and a limited open house with coffee and cakes.
The Bakery was started in the 1950s by a family from Denmark, which was then sold four years later to a group from Canada.
It was then in 1970 when Bent Olsen purchased the Bakery.
Olsen is a trained baker from Denmark and Sweden as a pastry chef.
Due to COVID-19, the Bakery is currently only doing outside dining. Olsen said this creates a more European feel.
"Anyone who dreams about going to Europe, forget about Europe, come to Solvang," Olsen said. "It is like a trip to Europe without a passport."
They are located on 1529 Mission Drive.
