A new warming shelter opened Wednesday in Grover Beach.

The facility provides food, shelter and clothing for those in need.

The shelter opens when the temperature is expected to be less than 41 degrees, or when it's raining.

Organizers say volunteers and donations are always needed.

"They are very appreciative and happy," says volunteer Ben Wagner, "Just like normal people, they want a smile and want to feel some love from other human beings, and it feels good to come down and be apart of the solution and not the problem."

Organizers say they are in need of large and extra large sweats and sweatshirts, as well as socks and gloves.

The center is located at Life Point Church in Grover Beach.
