A new spa and beauty store is scheduled to open this fall in downtown San Luis Obispo.

Construction is underway and signs up for Bluemercury on the corner of Morro and Higuera streets, the former location of Bali's Self Serve Frozen Yogurt.

Bluemercury, founded in 1999, describes itself as an iconic high-growth luxury beauty retail chain that offers skincare, makeup, hair care, and fragrance products.

The company's website says clients can also receive treatments at the store's spa such as oxygen facials, glycolic peels, waxing and microdermabrasion.

An exact opening date has not been announced but signs on the store's windows at 949 Higuera Street say it's coming this fall.

With stores across the United States, the closest Bluemercury location is currently on State Street in Santa Barbara.

Once open, the San Luis Obispo location will be one of more than 20 new businesses to open downtown this year.
