Los Padres National Forest closes major roads, trails until June 1

Effective April 16, Monterey Ranger District roads and trails in the Los Padres National Forest will be closed to the public until June 1.

Park officials say this is in an effort to support social distancing and ensure the health and safety of visitors, volunteers and employees.

The forest closure order includes the following roads, trails and trailheads:

Tassajara Road
Milpitas Road
Nacimiento-Fergusson Road
South Coast Ridge Road
Baldwin Ranch Road
Los Burros (Willow Creek) Road
Sycamore Canyon Road

Trails -
Boranda Trail
DeAngulo Trail
Kirk Creek Trail
Prewitt Loop Trail
Sand Dollar/Jade Cove Trail
Cruickshank Trail
Soda Springs Trail
Buckeye Trail
Salmon Creek Trail

Trailheads -
San Carpoforo
Salmon Creek
Buckeye
Soda Springs
Cruickshank
Prewitt South
Prewitt North
Mill Creek
Kirk Creek
De Angulo
Boranda

Forest officials say this closure is a temporary measure. They will continue to monitor the circumstances of Covid-19 and follow state, local and CDC guidelines.
