UPDATE(9:20 p.m): Lompoc Fire Batallion Chief Brian Federmann says the fire is now one acre and Santa Barbara County Fire hand crews are on scene assisting fire crews.
They plan to have firefighters on scene on all night and will investigate the cause of the fire in the morning.

ORIGINAL STORY: Lompoc Firefighters are currently on scene of a reported fire at a homeless encampment in the Santa Ynez riverbed, off North 12th street and East Laurel Avenue.
Lompoc residents tell KSBY they are able to see smoke in neighborhoods close by.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the Vandenberg Air Force Base Fire Department have been dispatched for assistance as well.
Fire officials say the fire has burned nearly 2 acres of brush.
