Lompoc bars, breweries and pubs are permitted to reopen as long as their service is offered outdoors and includes a meal.

Indoor service is not allowed.

This update to the Santa Barbara County health officer order went into effect 5 p.m. July 6.

To remain open, bars, breweries and pubs must abide by the following guidelines:

  • outdoor seating/service only
  • alcohol must be sold alongside a meal
  • dine-in restaurant guidance must be followed
  • businesses that cannot offer sit-down, dine-in meals outside must offer curbside sales only and no on-site alcohol consumption

DJ's Saloon in Lompoc acquired an outdoor food permit and opened their doors on Tuesday.

The bar created an outdoor seating area in the back of the bar with 8 tables.

"It's a lot of running around, you know, waitressing and bartending," said DJ's Saloon manager Lindsey Hadley. "But as long as we're able to stay open, I can't complain."

The bar has been forced to close twice during the pandemic. The manager said shutting down during the Fourth of July weekend was difficult because they would have brought in significant revenue.
