More than a handful of war veterans took a step in the right direction Friday.
Seven U.S. Military Veterans graduated from the Santa Barbara County veterans treatment court.
The class focused on overcoming drug and alcohol issues.
Santa Barbara County services provided the treatment that will help the vets for years to come.
"I learned a lot of good skills that I could use in the future to help myself and stop myself from abusing drugs and doing things that aren't helpful to myself and to others around me," says Julian Alvarado, U.S. Army Veteran.
If any of the veterans have further drug or alcohol issues, they can reach out to the county for help.
