A local restaurant provided catered meals to a senior living apartment complex, in hopes of helping the residents get their mind of the current COVID-19 situation.

Employees who work at Union Plaza in Santa Maria say the residents have been living in their homes for the past two to three weeks due to the shelter-at-home order.

On Tuesday, lunch was provided to all the residents, and staff made sure to follow very strict guidelines.

"We've had to take certain precautions so we closed all the communal areas. Half of our staff leaves one week and then returns the next so we're rotating staff just so that if we do have an outbreak because if we were to lose all staff obviously we couldn't operate the building," says Cliff Reynolds, President of Union Plaza Board of Directors.

The local restaurant Swiss Chalet provided 130 meals for the residents.

The meals included tri-tip, chicken, garlic bread, potatoes and even a beverage.
