UPDATE (2:37 p.m.) - Internet service has been restored to at least some Charter Spectrum customers impacted by Wednesday's outage.

A Charter representative released the following statement to KSBY:

“Spectrum services were interrupted earlier today by a network issue that our engineers worked to resolve as quickly as possible. We apologize to any customers who may have been affected.”

Charter says anyone still experiencing issues should contact customer service so engineers can look into the issue, adding the problem may be specific to an individual account and not Wednesday's issue.

ORIGINAL STORY: A large internet outage is affecting many Central Coast Charter Specrum customers.

KSBY has been unable to reach Charter representatives for information on the outage, but according to Spectrum’s online outage map, the local outage is impacting customers from Paso Robles to Orcutt.

Paso Robles seems to be impacted the most, with about 150 reports being made to Spectrum since 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to the outage map.

KSBY has heard from multiple viewers in northern San Luis Obispo County Wednesday morning saying they are without internet. There have also been reports that some businesses have had to close due to the outage.

KSBY is working to obtain additional information on the outage and possible restoration time and will have updates as they become available.
