UPDATE (2:35 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's officials say they are investigating threats made by a male juvenile at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School.
According to the sheriff's office, the threat was made on Monday and deputies began their investigation on Tuesday.
The juvenile suspect has been identified and deputies are reportedly in contact with him.
Sheriff's officials say their investigation has not revealed any information that would require extra safety protocols at the high school or any other locations in the Santa Ynez Valley.

(12:20 p.m.) - Deputies were seen at Santa Ynez Valley Union High School Wednesday morning.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says deputies will be on and around the campus as a precaution after conducting an investigation into statements made by a student earlier in the week.
The sheriff’s office did not elaborate on the statement or any potential threats to campus but said they’ve identified the student and there is no active danger to the school campus.
