UPDATE (1:36 p.m.) - Five people were injured in a crash Tuesday on northbound Highway 101 in the Los Alamos area.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reported injuries for four of the people involved ranged from minor to moderate. They were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals.
A fifth person received major injuries and was taken by Calstar to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

ORIGINAL STORY: Injuries were reported in a crash on Highway 101 in the Los Alamos area Tuesday afternoon.
It happened just after noon on northbound Highway 101 near Cat Canyon Road.
Initial reports into the California Highway Patrol were that two vehicles were involved and debris was scattered across the road.
As of 12:28 p.m., Cat Canyon Road was being shut down to allow Calstar to land.
