Fire crews in Lompoc responded to brush fire at a homeless encampment in the Santa Ynez Riverbed, north of the Robinson Bridge, Monday afternoon.

At about 4:20 p.m., firefighters with Lompoc City Fire and Santa Barbara County Fire Department arrived to find heavy smoke and flames.

Crews say they used about 700 gallons of water over two hours to put out the 50'x50' fire.

Officials say no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
