Santa Maria police arrested a man after they say he was carrying more than a half-pound (240 grams) of illegal drugs.
According to SMPD, the department's Special Enforcement Team (SET) observed "suspicious activity" in the 200 block of East Main Street.
Officers approached 36-year-old Michael Jolly who police say tried to discard a backpack. Upon searching, police found drugs, money and a flare gun inside the backpack.
Police say Jolly was found in possession of 100 grams of fentanyl, 21 grams of cocaine, 26 grams of heroin, 93 grams of methamphetamine, $700 in cash and a flare gun.
Jolly was arrested for transportation of drugs and possession of drugs for sale. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.
