Grocery Outlet Bargain Market opened its doors in Arroyo Grande on Thursday.

The "extreme-value grocery retailer" hosted the grand opening ceremony allowing the first 200 customers to receive Grocery Outlet BlissBucks gift cards ranging from $5 to $200.

At the event, the new store's independent owner-operators, Michael and Haley Testa, presented $1,750 in total donations to three local nonprofit organizations: $750 to Arroyo Grande High School Athletic Foundation, $500 to Achievement House Inc., and $500 to Five Cities Meals on Wheels.

Starting on Thursday and lasting through March 26, customers can enter for a chance to win a grand prize of free groceries for one year.

Grocery Outlet carries a full range of products from fresh produce, meat, deli and dairy to a wide assortment of natural and organic choices. They also offer a large selection of beer and wine, health and beauty care, as well as seasonal items.
