The Goleta Sanitary District is scheduled to smoke test the sewer system on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The testing is designated to help find any broken manholes, pipe leaks, cracks and uncapped lines.
It will be conducted by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The area that will be tested includes north of Hollister Avenue from Santa Ana Avenue east of San Federico to the spaces along the train tracks.
Other streets that could possibly be affected by the testing include:
- San Dimas Ave. east to San Julio Ave.
- Santa Susana Ave,
- San Simeon Dr.
- Santa Lucia Ave.
- San Lucas Way
- Santa Paula Ave.
All nearby residents and businesses should have received notification about the smoke testing prior to the operation.
