The Goleta Police Department plans to have deputies on patrol during the 4th of July weekend to look for impaired drivers.
Additional deputies will be on patrol Friday, July 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. looking for motorists suspected of driving under the influence.
The Goleta Police Department reminds the public that a DUI can result from alcohol, prescription medication or over-the-counter drugs and marijuana.
Funding for DUI enforcement is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
