Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham joined Golden State Water employees Friday at the Foodbank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County to distribute 100 turkeys.
Golden State Water has participated in Operation Gobble for the past 29 years.
This year, the company distributed 8,000 turkeys throughout California. Eight-hundred of them went to the Central Coast.
"It's something that the staff embraces and really a good opportunity for the water company to come out and participate in this type of event, really connect with the community," said Mark Zimmer, Golden State Water Company General Manager.
Zimmer says over the past 29 years, Golden State has donated 250,000 turkeys.
