High school athletes, staff and parents are fighting to bring back competitive sports.
More than a dozen people rallied today at the corner of Oak Park Boulevard and Grand Avenue.
Many of those in attendance say they feel the strain of COVID-19 restrictions is worse than the benefits of exercise and group play that come with high school athletics.
"There's no COVID cases or death that has happened because of kids being involved in things that are health for them," claims Christin Brittingham, a high school parent.
Only cross country, golf, tennis, swimming & diving, and track & field are currently allowed under purple-tier restrictions.
