Community members loaded up their cars with donations for the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County's second 'Fill the Foodbank!' Drive-thru Food Drive on Saturday in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara.
The organization collected non-perishable foods at its Santa Maria warehouse, located at 490 West Foster Road, as well as the Santa Barbara warehouse on 4554 Hollister Avenue.
All donations will go towards community members facing food insecurity this winter, according to the foodbank.
"The need and the food insecurity is a 365-day-a-year problem in our county and in our country," said Lisa Skvarla, the director of community engagement for the foodbank. "Having drives like this throughout the year is a reminder to our community of that and helps us meet those needs."
Community members who were unable to make it to Saturday's drive-thru food drive can donate non-perishable foods Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at either the Santa Maria or the Santa Barbara warehouse.
