The Highway 154 Safety Committee will hold its first meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Building, located on 1745 Mission Drive in Solvang.
The Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG) created the committee to address safety concerns along Highway 154.
The formation of the committee came after a mother and her two children were killed in a crash on the highway late October.
Attendees at the town hall can expect to hear the latest information on Highway 154 traffic safety and efforts to improve safety, according to an official with SBCAG.
At 6:30 p.m., there will be an open house with state and local agencies, followed by the meeting.
SBCAG says community members can also meet and ask questions to representatives from Caltrans, California Highway Patrol, SBCAG as well as local and state officials.
The Santa Ynez YMCA will provide childcare at the Solvang Library, which is located across the street from the Solvang Veterans Memorial Building on Mission Drive. Spanish language interpreters will also be available at the town hall, said SBCAG officials.
To register to attend, you can visit the event page on Eventbrite or call SBCAG at 805-961-8900. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
The town hall is free to attend.
