UPDATE (4:09 p.m.) - According to CAL FIRE, about one-third of the home was significantly damaged in the fire.
The home was not occupied and the people who were going to be living there were not expected to move in for another week.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(12:47 p.m.) - Firefighters were on scene of a house fire that broke out Thursday afternoon in Pismo Beach.
The fire was first reported at about 12:10 p.m. at a two-story home in the 1200 block of Costa Brava.
Fire crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof.
