UPDATE (10:24 a.m.) - The pilot of a helicopter that went down in a field outside Orcutt Friday was not injured, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Fire officials say the helicopter was spraying organic pesticide when it experienced a mechanical issue, landing on its side in an agriculture field.
Fire officials say the pesticide tanks were empty before the helicopter went down.

ORIGINAL STORY: Emergency crews were responding to reports of a possible downed helicopter outside the Orcutt area Friday morning.
The call came in at around 7:45 a.m. in the area of Orcutt Garey and Foxen Canyon roads.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
No word yet on the extent of any injuries.
