Many people travel to the mountains to play in the snow, but families in Grover Beach didn't have to go very far to go sledding.
The city of Grover Beach hosted a free Snow Day for the community Saturday at Ramona Garden Park.
Kids enjoyed a snow slide and play area, live music from the band "Critical Mass," local artists and more.
Matthew Bronson, the city manager of Grover Beach, shared some pictures from the weekend event on Twitter.
Great time at our @CityGroverBeach Snow Day with sledding, snowballs, crafts, live music, visit with Santa, hot cocoa, and BBQ. Awesome turnout for our final holiday activity in #GroverBeach and kudos to our staff and volunteers for putting on the event! #localgov pic.twitter.com/dRMIB1UbxM

Guests snacked on hot dogs provided by the Five Cities Optimists Club; free popcorn and hot chocolate was provided to guests as well.
Kids also had an opportunity to get their face painted and make a craft that they can take home.
