A Veterans Day tradition that has taken place for the past 20 years will look a little different this year because of the pandemic.
Every year, attorney Michael Clayton hosts a Veterans Day barbeque in Santa Maria.
For the past ten years, it's been held at the Veterans Memorial Building.
This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Santa Maria Elk's Lodge has offered up its parking lot and will be serving tri-tip sandwiches.
"We're going to have to do what we gotta do with COVID-19 and get past it and so it should work out to be a really great event anyway no matter where we do it because it's for the veterans and a lot of it was put on by the veterans that come over and they want to volunteer - vets volunteering for the veterans - so it's gonna be a great event," Clayton said.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Meals are free for veterans and volunteers.
