The California DMV is offering a one-year extension to senior drivers with expiring licenses.
Licenses for drivers age 70 and up that expire any time between March and December of this year are now valid until 2021.
Drivers will not receive a new card or paper extension in the mail as the change is automatic.
A free temporary extension can be requested online.
Law enforcement has been notified of the extension.
