A local radio host and his crew are bringing joy to a Nipomo family after they've had a difficult year.

Adam Monteil, host of Coast 104.5’s Up & Adam in the Morning, and his crew surprised the McAllister family with holiday presents, lights and decorations to lift their spirits after their father passed away earlier this year.

This was the radio station's 7th annual “Breaking and Entering Christmas” event in which the crew surprises a local family in need with holiday goodies.

Mother Stacey McAllister says she is overwhelmed by the community's support.

"We've just been supported and lifted by all of our friends and family and to have the community come in and do something like this, it is overwhelming," McAllister said.

Before the pandemic, organizers would enter homes and give families a holiday makeover.

This year, Montiel decided to make it a drive-thru event to try to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"The people that are involved come back year after year because it's a really special time. You get to meet a really special family, and whatever their unique reason is, needs a little love, and that's what we're here for," Montiel said.

Coast 104.5 also stopped by an Atascadero family's home to bring some holiday cheer.
