The City of Atascadero is joining a couple other local cities in hosting a socially-distant holiday celebration.

Friday's "Downtown Drive-In Holiday Lighting Celebration" starts at 5:15 p.m. at the Sunken Gardens with holiday lights and music.

Santa and Mrs. Claus plan to arrive on a firetruck.

Earlier in the day, two of Santa’s reindeer will be at Historic City Hall.

Organizers say this will be a great picture opportunity for families from noon to 6 p.m.

City officials have announced a couple other events happening Friday.

They say families can drive by the "Glow-Shine-Sparkle Reverse Holiday Parade" at Atascadero High School.

Some local student organizations and non-profits designed the stationary floats for the parade.

Atascadero residents and visitors can also pick up a "Trail of Lights Holiday Lighting Tour" map.

Several businesses and residents have participated by displaying holiday decorations.

The map can be found at www.visitatascadero.com/holidaylights.

Lights will be on display until Christmas.
