Churches come together to serve Thanksgiving meals in Lompoc
Around 12 churches came together to help provide a Thanksgiving dinner in Lompoc.
The event has been coordinated by Doreen Ross for the past 27 years.
The event took place at the La Purisma Catholic Church. Each church was in charge of making a particular Thanksgiving dish.
"I think it's a very happy feeling in here," says Ross, "everybody in this community is sharing with each other, even people that don't know each other are visiting with each other, it's kind of what I feel thanksgiving should be."
The meals served came with all the fixings; turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, yams, salad, cranberry sauce and rolls.
Organizers say they usually server 200 people during the event.
