California Highway Patrol officers were out in full force Tuesday near Buellton cracking down on speeding drivers.
Officers say the 1.5-hour saturation patrol along Highway 101 near Highway 154 netted 16 citations for speeding violations, four verbal warnings and one citation for making an unsafe lane change.
This is the fourth saturation patrol conducted by the Buellton-area California Highway Patrol office in recent months and officers say more are coming.
CHP says during the patrols, which are not grant funded, they take all available resources and saturate a specific area.
The location on Tuesday was chosen due to the high number of violations CHP sees in that area.
The enforcement ran from about 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Officers say most of those cited were driving over 70 mph and four drivers were clocked at 86 mph.
The speed limit on that stretch of Highway 101 is 65 mph.
