More than one dozen people were stopped Tuesday during a "speed enforcement detail" in the Santa Ynez Valley.

It's at least the fifth enforcement detail conducted by the California Highway Patrol's Buellton-area office in recent months.

Officers say in less than one hour Tuesday, more than 12 people were stopped for speed violations near highways 154 and 246.

The location was chosen by "popular demand," according to CHP.

Last month, more than 16 drivers were cited during a saturation patrol on the Highway 154 overcrossing at Highway 101 near Buellton.

CHP reminds drivers to slow drive and limit distractions while driving.
