Charles Paddock Zoo to host "Running with Wildlife" race to benefit wildlife conservation

The Charles Paddock Zoo is hosting a virtual race to support wildlife conservation.

The zoo is inviting community members to run or walk, indoors or outdoors, bike or skateboard, for a half marathon, 10K, 5K or 1 Mile “your way” during the "Running with Wildlife" virtual event.

You can join anytime from August 22nd to 28th.

On the zoo's website, event organizers say, "With a whole week to complete the event, we ask that you please adhere to all CDC recommended social distancing guidelines, maintain a safe distance from others and avoid trails and walking paths during peak times."

It costs $10 to register and $20 with a "Run with Wildlife" t-shirt.

All participants will be entered to win the grand prize--- two one-day park hopper tickets to Disneyland.

Participants are encouraged to post photos and videos of them participating.

The Charles Paddock Zoo is located at Atascadero Lake Park on Highway 41/Morro Road, one mile west of Highway 101. Over 200 animals call the Charles Paddock Zoo home, including red pandas, monkeys, meerkats, parrots, a Malayan Tiger, a variety of reptiles and more.
