California allows playgrounds to reopen

California has reversed its decision to close playgrounds as part of the state’s new regional stay-at-home order.

Health officials say the change was new as of Wednesday morning.

Public playgrounds, as well as playgrounds located at schools with in-person learning, can stay open.

Many Californians have expressed broad criticism that closing playgrounds would harm children who have few options to be outside safely.
