Authorities are reminding people to lock their doors and look out for suspicious activity in their neighborhoods after multiple home burglaries were reported in the Santa Ynez area this week.

One was reported Tuesday at a home on the 3600 block of Olive Street and another on the 1300 block of Refugio Road, officials say.

A third reportedly took place Thursday on the 1100 block of Tyndall Street.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says the residents all returned home to find someone had entered their homes through an unlocked back door.

Sheriff's officials say the three burglaries all appear to be similar. They have not released information on what was taken during the crimes.

Investigators are working to identify suspects in the case and ask anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office's Solvang station at (805) 686-5000 during business hours or the non-emergency dispatch line at (805) 683-2724 after hours.
