Broadway Bagel & Coffee Company is no more.
Located on E. Grand Ave in Arroyo Grande, the shop closed on Christmas Eve at noon.
This sign posted on the door says the owner, Sally is retiring. The shop had been in business for 23 years.
A second location at the Pismo Coast Shopping Plaza on 5 Cities Drive is also permanently closed.
In a phone conversation with Sally Lauringson on Wednesday afternoon, she told KSBY she sold the property. It was a process that was in the works for at least five months. She said it was time to retire. Lauringson has two young grandchildren and wants to travel the world. She wants to see Niagra Falls and New Zealand and just enjoy life. She said this was good timing.
Lauringson also thanked the Lucia Mar Unified School District; the teachers, employees, and students for being wonderful customers. A lot of the students were also her employees over the past 23 years.
“Was a wonderful business and I enjoyed every minute of it,” Lauringson added.
It's unclear what will replace the Arroyo Grande location at this time.
