UPDATE (5:45 a.m.) - According to Lompoc Police Department, the 12-year-old boy that was shot Wednesday night is in stable condition.

A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after being shot in Lompoc Wednesday night.
Police say he was an innocent bystander.
Officers responded to reports of the shooting at around 7:30 p.m. on Laurel Avenue near North O Street.
Police tell KSBY News the boy was waiting to purchase food from a taco truck that frequents the area when he was shot.
Investigators were on scene collecting evidence until close to 10 p.m. before clearing the scene.
No arrests have been made.
The boy was airlifted to a trauma center. His current condition was not immediately known.
This is not the first shooting to take place in the city Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, a homicide investigation was underway after police found a man shot to death in the Santa Ynez Riverbed.
