UPDATE (5:03 p.m.) - Pismo Beach police say a passerby reported seeing what they believed to be a body in the surf at about 3:30 p.m.
Investigators say the body is that of a white male adult with head trauma. No identification was found.

(4:53 p.m.) - A body was pulled from the ocean Tuesday afternoon off Pismo Beach.
Authorities transported the body to a parking lot where investigators and the San Luis Obispo County Coroner were on scene as of 4:45 p.m.
The Pismo Beach Police Department is investigating.
The chief of police says it has not been confirmed whether the body is that of a Costa Mesa man who was reported missing last week and whose last known location was in Pismo Beach.
