UPDATE (6:44 p.m.) - BarrelHouse Brewing Co. made a post on Instagram Friday responding to backlash from their Thursday post saying the company stands behind law enforcement.

The Thursday post came after a near 36-hour search for a Paso Robles shooting suspect.

In the post, the brewery writes: "Our intention was and is to thank the local law enforcement for keeping us and our community safe during this horrible event that unfolded in our neighborhood. We did a similar gesture for our hospital workers and first responders during the initial outbreak of Covid-19. The message was and is love and thanks.⁣"

The post goes on to say that BarrelHouse stands with members of the black community against social injustice.

The company said they have made donations to Transitions-Mental Health Association and NAACP. Barrelhouse is also working to diversify their workplace by increasing their number of POC staff and increasing diversity in marketing campaigns.

A local brewery is thanking law enforcement for their efforts in Northern San Luis Obispo County this week.

After watching the 36-hour-long search for a shooting suspect unfold from their windows, BarrelHouse Brewing is offering a special deal to local cops.

In a Facebook post, the brewery writes: "As a small token for their service and for keeping our families and communities safe, BarrelHouse will be offering $1 six-packs (limit one per person) at our Paso Robles brewery to all active law enforcement personal this Friday (06/12)."

The brewery will also match all tips collected at its Paso Robles taproom throughout the week. The collected funds will then be donated to the families of the four officers who were wounded Wednesday and Thursday.
