Organizers say attendance was up this year at the 83rd annual Danish Days celebration in Solvang.
Especially popular this year was the new axe throwing arena which allowed visitors to try their hand at Viking axe throwing. The Æbleskiver cooking demos and eating contests were also a big hit.
The festival celebrates the city's Danish heritage and also included a Viking encampment, old world marketplace, a Kids' Korner, storytellers, live music, parades, and other activities.
