An arrest has been made in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old in Santa Maria last week.
Santa Maria police say the detective bureau and special enforcement team tracked the suspect, identified as Jesus Juarez Gracilazo, 20, to Tulare County.
With the help of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, police say Gracilazo was arrested in connection with the murder of Kevin Nunez-Escamill.
He was found shot to death Friday, Dec. 18, on the 800 black of W. Donovan Road.
Gracilazo was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $2 million.
The announcement of his arrest comes a day after police asked for the public’s help in the case.
Investigators have not released a possible motive for the shooting.
