Animal shelters in Santa Barbara County are asking for the publics assistance in providing them with empty pill bottles.
The shelters are asking community members to clean and remove the stickers from the bottles and bring them to shelters in Santa Barbara, Lompoc and Santa Maria.
They say instead of recycling or throwing them away it helps the shelters give pet owners the prescriptions their pets need.
"We thought it was a great effort to just make it public and let everyone know that they can take their pill bottles and help reuse them" says Lauren Sligh with Santa Barbara County Animal Services.
The shelter in most need of empty pill bottles is Santa Maria.
