23 new apartment units in Goleta to help house people formerly homeless

Work on a new housing development in Goleta is expected to begin this week.

The Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara is heading up the Patterson Point project, which will include 23 studio apartments with one manager unit, a community room, kitchen and laundry facilities.

The affordable housing space is going up at 80 North Patterson Avenue and is designed for people who were formerly homeless.

Constructed is expected to last about nine months.
