More than 20 people were detained after property crimes-related search warrants were served in a Lompoc neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Lompoc police say the warrants were served at two apartments on the 500 block of North G Street in connection with about 15 "window smash burglaries" that have taken place in the city since July.

Police say over the past several months, they've been working to identify potential suspects and with assistance from the Santa Maria Police Department, served the search warrant obtained in the case Wednesday morning.

Officials say 21 people were detained between the two apartments and "a number of subjects arrested" for miscellaneous crimes.

Police remained on scene as of 11 a.m. searching the homes.

More information is expected to be released later in the day.
