The Arroyo Grande Police Department is hosting two active shooter training exercises at Arroyo Grande High School this week.
The first one is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 and Saturday, Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Police said people can expect to hear loud explosions and or the sounds of simulated gunshots throughout the day, but warns people, this is not an emergency, just part of the training.
Arroyo Grande High School will be blocked off with caution tape and “police training” signs.
Safety officers will be there dressed in red, officers participating in the training will be wearing police uniforms.
