Firefighters in San Luis Obispo County responded to calls this week they say are a little more out-of-the-ordinary.
Thursday, CAL FIRE SLO was dispatched to a home in Nipomo after receiving reports that a dog had gotten one of his legs stuck in a table frame.
The owner was able to free the animal’s leg on its own and called the fire department for help.
CAL FIRE SLO says it was able to use a tool to help free the dog’s leg. It was not injured.
Firefighters also worked recently to free ducklings from a storm drain in Pismo Beach.
CAL FIRE officials say they only handle situations involving animals a handful of times every month but add that it’s always a good feeling to help out those in the community, whether it is people or animals.
