Thousands of Santa Barbara County college-bound students received funds from the local scholarship foundation.

The foundation works to inspire and encourage local students to attend college.

Organizers work closely with the students and provide them with access to information, advising and scholarship funds.

The foundation aims to raise millions of dollars with community supporters throughout the county.

“The scholarship foundation is the nations largest community base of college scholarships, says the President of the foundation Victoria Juarez, “since 1962 we have awarded nearly $115 million to more than 15,000 students across the county and we know that we cannot do it without community supporters. We are grateful to our partners and we are certainly looking to do more.”

This year they awarded nearly $8 million dollars to almost 2,500 students in Santa Barbara County.
