UPDATE – (6:12 p.m.) — Both crash scenes on the Cuesta Grade are now clear of debris, according to CHP.
Traffic is flowing through the area. Neither crash appeared to be serious.
ORIGINAL STORY (5:26 p.m.) — Emergency crews were responding to multiple crashes on Highway 101 on the Cuesta Grade.
A crash near the top of the Cuesta Grade in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 occurred just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved an SUV and a semi-truck.
There were reportedly no injuries but the number 1 and 3 lanes were partially blocked.
A second crash was reported on the southbound side at the base of the grade about 20 minutes later.
Traffic was backed up through San Luis Obispo during rush hour and as many people were heading northbound to the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles.
